Custom software, engineered to last.

Koki Smoki EOOD is a Sofia-based software company. We design and build web platforms, mobile applications and internal tools for businesses in Bulgaria and across the EU — from first specification to long-term support.

  • EU-registered company
  • VAT BG207712194

What we build

One team, end to end: analysis, design, development, deployment and the years of support that follow.

Custom software development

Bespoke platforms, dashboards and internal systems built around your actual workflows — not the other way around. We take ownership from the first requirements workshop to the production release.

Web applications

Fast, secure, responsive web apps and portals — from customer-facing products to online stores and booking systems, built for real-world traffic and easy maintenance.

Mobile applications

Native and cross-platform apps for Android and iOS, designed, built and published to the stores under your brand — with updates and store compliance handled for you.

Consulting & architecture

Technical audits, architecture reviews and honest advice before you commit budget — including second opinions on quotes and rescuing stalled or inherited projects.

Integrations & automation

Connecting your systems — payments, ERP, CRM, logistics and public APIs — and automating the manual work in between, so data flows instead of being re-typed.

Maintenance & support

Monitoring, updates, security patches and agreed response times, so the software we ship keeps earning its keep — for our builds and for systems we take over.

Where custom software pays off

Off-the-shelf tools take a business a long way — until they don't. These are the situations where a bespoke build starts earning its price back.

Retail & e-commerce

Stores that outgrow their platform: custom checkout logic, stock synchronisation across channels, B2B price lists, loyalty mechanics your competitors can't copy from an app store.

Logistics & operations

Dispatching, route planning, warehouse flows and driver apps that match how your operation actually runs — instead of forcing your people into someone else's process.

Professional services

Client portals, document workflows, booking and billing systems for firms whose spreadsheets have quietly become their core infrastructure.

Manufacturing & trade

Production tracking, quality logs and ERP integrations that close the gap between the shop floor and the office — without a seven-figure ERP migration.

Startups & digital products

An MVP built to survive success: fast enough to test the market, structured well enough that investor-stage growth doesn't require a rewrite.

Established internal systems

That ten-year-old system everyone fears touching: we document it, stabilise it, and modernise it piece by piece — with the business running the whole time.

Technology we work with

Proven, widely supported tools — chosen per project for longevity and hiring reality, not fashion. If it runs your business, we can probably build with it.

Back-end

Already have a stack? We adapt to it. Choosing one from scratch? We will recommend the option your team can still hire for and afford to run five years from now — and put the reasoning in writing.

How we work

A clear, fixed sequence — so you always know where the project stands and what it costs.

  1. Discovery

We listen first: your goals, constraints and existing systems. You get a written scope — in plain language, not jargon.

  2. Proposal & design

A concrete offer with timeline, milestones and price, plus wireframes or a prototype where it helps decisions.

  3. Build & review

Short iterations with regular demos. You see working software early and steer while changes are still cheap.

  4. Launch & support

Deployment, documentation and handover — then maintenance and support for as long as you want us around.

Ways to work with us

Three engagement models, each with its own logic. We will tell you honestly which one fits your project — including when the answer is the cheapest one.

Fixed-price project

Best for a well-defined scope

One agreed specification, one agreed price, milestone-based invoicing. Changes go through written change requests, so the budget never surprises you.

  • Written scope and acceptance criteria
  • Milestone payments tied to delivery
  • Warranty period after handover

Time & materials

Best for evolving products

An agreed rate and a monthly cap, with detailed time reports. You steer priorities sprint by sprint and can stop at any milestone.

  • Transparent time tracking and reporting
  • Re-prioritise the backlog at any point
  • Monthly budget ceiling you control

Support retainer

Best for live systems

A monthly agreement with defined response times for monitoring, updates, security patches and small improvements — for our builds or systems we take over.

  • Agreed response and resolution targets
  • Proactive updates and security patching
  • Unused hours roll into improvements

Every model comes with the same paperwork discipline: a written agreement under Bulgarian/EU law, proper VAT invoices, and IP transfer terms agreed before work starts.

Why an EU-registered partner matters

Working with us means contracting with a verifiable European legal entity — not an anonymous profile on a freelance marketplace.

EU jurisdiction & contracts

Written agreements under Bulgarian and EU law, enforceable in EU courts. Our registry entry is public — verify us before you sign anything.

Proper VAT invoicing

Full EU VAT invoices under BG207712194 — clean books for your accountant, reverse-charge handling for EU businesses, no grey-zone payments.

GDPR by default

Data processing agreements, EU data residency where required, and privacy-by-design habits — because we are subject to the same rules you are.

Your IP, on paper

Rights to bespoke work transfer to you on full payment, stated in the contract — including source code, so you are never locked in to us.

A real company, on the record

Koki Smoki EOOD is an independent Bulgarian software company, registered in the Commercial Register and VAT-registered in the European Union. When you work with us, you contract with a transparent legal entity in an EU jurisdiction — with proper invoices, written agreements and GDPR-compliant handling of your data by default.

We deliberately stay small and senior. The people who scope your project are the people who build it, and the same names answer the phone a year later. No handovers between departments, no account managers relaying messages, no juniors learning on your budget.

Sofia is one of Europe's established software hubs, and working from Bulgaria lets us offer senior engineering at rates that make sense for small and mid-sized businesses — same EU legal protections, same time zone as most of Europe, without the big-agency overhead.

Everything about who we are is public — check the fact sheet here, or the policy pages linked in the footer.

Security is part of the build, not an add-on

The practices below apply to every project by default. They are not premium extras.

Encryption everywhere

TLS on every connection, encryption at rest for sensitive data, and secrets kept in proper vaults — never in code repositories.

Least-privilege access

Access to your systems and data is granted per person, per need, and revoked at handover. Shared passwords are never part of the workflow.

Separated environments

Development, staging and production stay isolated. Client environments are never mixed, and production data never trains or tests anything.

Backups & recovery

Automated backups with tested restore procedures on systems we operate — because a backup that was never restored is a hope, not a plan.

NDAs & processing agreements

We sign NDAs on request and GDPR Art. 28 data processing agreements whenever a project touches personal data you control.

Patching discipline

Dependencies and runtimes on supported systems are kept current on a schedule, with security advisories monitored — not patched "when there's time".

Questions we hear a lot

Straight answers, before you even ask. Anything else — one email away.

How do we start a project with you?

Email a few lines about what you need to owner@kokismokieood.com. We reply personally, usually within one business day, with either clarifying questions or a proposed call. The first consultation is free and does not oblige you to anything — its purpose is for both sides to understand whether the project makes sense.

What does a project cost?

Honestly: it depends on scope, and anyone quoting before understanding your requirements is guessing. What we promise is a written, itemised offer before any commitment, milestone-based payments so you never prepay the whole project, and no invoices for work you have not approved.

All prices are in EUR with proper VAT invoicing under BG207712194.

How long does a typical project take?

Small tools and integrations are measured in weeks; full platforms and mobile apps in months. The proposal you receive includes a timeline with milestones, and our short-iteration process means you see working software early — not a big reveal at the end.

Who owns the code you write for us?

You do. Rights to the bespoke work we build for you transfer on full payment, as stated in the contract — including source code and documentation. Generic tooling we bring to the project stays ours, but you receive a licence to use it as part of your deliverable, so nothing you paid for stops working.

Do you work with clients outside Bulgaria?

Yes — we work remotely with clients across the EU and beyond. Contracts are under Bulgarian/EU law in English, invoicing follows EU VAT rules (including reverse charge for EU businesses), and our working hours overlap comfortably with all European time zones.

Can you take over an existing project or codebase?

Yes, and it is one of the most common ways clients find us. We start with a paid technical audit: you get a written assessment of the code, infrastructure and risks, plus a plan — whether you continue with us or not. We will tell you honestly if a rebuild is cheaper than a rescue.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, on request, before any detailed discussion of your project. If your project involves personal data you control, we also sign a GDPR data processing agreement as standard.

What happens after launch?

Every project ships with documentation and a handover, and includes a warranty period for defects. After that, most clients choose a support retainer with agreed response times — but you are never locked in: you own the code and can take it anywhere.

Do you provide hosting?

We set up and operate cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or a European provider of your choice) — but always in accounts that belong to you. You hold the keys and pay the provider directly at cost; we manage it under a support agreement. If we ever part ways, your infrastructure simply stays yours.

In what language do you work?

English and Bulgarian, both for communication and documentation. Contracts are drawn up in English by default; for Bulgarian clients we work in Bulgarian end to end, including contracts.

Tell us what you're building

Write a few lines about your project or problem — no forms, no gatekeeping. We reply personally, usually within one business day, and a first consultation costs nothing.

Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

Last updated 2026 This website and online store is operated by КОКИ СМОКИ ЕООД (KOKI SMOKI EOOD) — "Koki Smoki", "we", "us" — a single-member limited liability company under Bulgarian law. UIC/EIK 207712194, VAT BG207712194, registered office: Bulgaria, Sofia 1330, Krasna Polyana district, zh.k. Krasna Polyana III, bl. 333, ent. B, fl. 6, apt. 35. Manager: Ivan Stilyan Ivanov. Email: owner@kokismokieood.com.

2. Scope

These Terms govern your use of the website, purchases of digital products offered through it, and — unless otherwise agreed in writing — our software development, consulting and support services. An individual signed agreement takes precedence over these Terms to the extent of any conflict. By using the website, placing an order or ordering services you accept these Terms.

3. Use of the website

Use the website lawfully. You must not attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the website, introduce malware, or copy substantial parts of its content without our written consent. Product and service presentations are an invitation to order, not a binding offer.

4. Orders in the online store

  • Submitting an order at checkout is a binding offer to purchase; you can review and correct entries before submitting.
  • A contract is concluded when we send an order confirmation or make the product available, whichever comes first.
  • Digital products are delivered electronically to the email address you provide, normally shortly after successful payment.
  • If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price due to a technical error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

5. Services and proposals

For services, we prepare a written proposal (scope, deliverables, timeline, price; valid 30 days unless stated otherwise). A contract is concluded on your written acceptance. Scope changes go through written change requests. You agree to provide the information, materials and decisions reasonably needed for delivery.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are in euro (EUR); VAT is charged and shown where required by Bulgarian law (VAT no. BG207712194). Store purchases are paid at checkout through our payment providers — we do not store full card details. Service invoices are payable within 14 days by bank transfer unless agreed otherwise; larger projects are invoiced per milestone. Overdue invoices may lead to suspension of work and statutory default interest.

7. Intellectual property

Purchased digital products are licensed for your own use as described in the listing. For bespoke services, rights to the work results developed for you transfer on full payment as defined in the contract; our pre-existing tools remain ours with a licence for you to use them as part of the deliverable. Open-source components remain under their own licences. Website content may not be reproduced without permission.

8. Warranty and liability

We work professionally, with due care and good industry practice, and remedy defects reported within the agreed (or statutory) warranty period. Towards business clients, our total liability per engagement is limited to the amount paid under it, excluding indirect damages — except for intent or gross negligence. Nothing in these Terms limits consumers' mandatory statutory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Consumers

Consumers ordering at a distance have a 14-day right of withdrawal, described with its statutory exceptions in the Refund & Return Policy below. Disputes: Commission for Consumer Protection (kzp.bg) or the EU ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) — but contact us first at support@kokismokieood.com; we prefer to solve problems directly.

10. Governing law

Bulgarian law governs these Terms. For business clients the competent Bulgarian court at our seat has jurisdiction; consumers keep the protection of mandatory law of their EU country of residence. If any provision is invalid, the remainder stands. We may update these Terms; the published version with its date applies to new orders and engagements.

Privacy Policy

1. Controller

КОКИ СМОКИ ЕООД (Koki Smoki EOOD), UIC 207712194, Sofia 1330, Krasna Polyana district, zh.k. Krasna Polyana III, bl. 333, ent. B, fl. 6, apt. 35, Bulgaria, represented by Ivan Stilyan Ivanov. Privacy contact: support@kokismokieood.com. We process personal data under the GDPR and the Bulgarian Personal Data Protection Act, and we collect as little as possible.

2. What we process and why

  • Orders: name, email, billing details, products ordered, payment status — to conclude and perform the sales contract and meet accounting law (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). Payment credentials are handled by payment providers; we never see full card numbers. Records kept for the statutory periods (up to 10 years plus the current year).
  • Correspondence: what you send us by email — to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Kept up to 12 months after the matter closes unless it becomes part of a contract.
  • Services clients: contact, contract and invoicing data — to perform the contract and meet legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR).
  • Website visits: our store runs on Shopify, whose infrastructure records technical logs (IP address, time, page, browser) and sets strictly necessary cookies for cart and checkout (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Logs are short-lived. We run no advertising trackers.
  • Client projects: where we access personal data controlled by a client, we act as processor under Art. 28 GDPR, on documented instructions under a data processing agreement.

3. Recipients and transfers

We never sell personal data. Recipients: Shopify (e-commerce platform), payment providers, email hosting and accounting services, public authorities where the law requires, and professional advisers where needed for legal claims. Data stays in the EEA where possible; where processors (including Shopify) process it in Canada or the US, we rely on adequacy decisions or Art. 46 GDPR safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent (Arts. 15–21 GDPR) — email support@kokismokieood.com; we respond within one month, free of charge. You may complain to the Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592, Bulgaria (www.cpdp.bg, kzld@cpdp.bg) or your local EU supervisory authority.

5. Security and other points

HTTPS everywhere, need-to-know access, strong authentication, separated environments, regular updates. No automated decision-making or profiling; the website is not directed at children. Providing data is never a statutory requirement, but without basic contact and order data we cannot answer or deliver. We publish updates to this policy here with a new date.

Cookie Policy

1. The short version

This store runs on Shopify and uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for the site, cart and checkout to work. We run no advertising trackers and set no analytics cookies of our own. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first.

2. What is set

Shopify sets strictly necessary first-party cookies such as _shopify_s and _shopify_y (session handling), the cart cookies (cart, cart_sig, cart_ts, cart_currency), checkout cookies (checkout_token and related), secure_customer_sig (secure customer login) and localization (country/currency choice). Durations range from the session to about one year. The exact set can vary slightly as Shopify updates its platform; Shopify's current list is published at www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

3. Consent

Under the ePrivacy rules and the GDPR, consent is required only for cookies that are not strictly necessary for a service you request. Everything this store sets is strictly necessary for the shopping functions you use, so no consent banner is required — and there is nothing optional to reject.

4. Control

You can view, delete or block cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all provide this under Privacy settings). Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the cart and checkout from working. Questions: support@kokismokieood.com.

Refund & Return Policy

1. Digital products

EU consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium (downloads, license keys, digital applications), the law provides an exception: the right of withdrawal is lost once supply has begun, if you gave prior express consent to immediate supply and acknowledged losing the withdrawal right — you will see and accept exactly that consent at checkout where it applies. If you have not yet accessed the product and gave no such consent, your 14-day right applies in full.

Independently of withdrawal, if a product does not work as described you have the statutory conformity remedies (Directive (EU) 2019/770): we fix it, replace it, reduce the price or refund you.

2. Services ordered by consumers

You may withdraw from a distance service contract within 14 days of conclusion without giving a reason — email an unambiguous statement to support@kokismokieood.com. We confirm receipt and refund all payments within 14 days, by your original payment method, free of charge. Exceptions: if you asked us to start early and then withdraw, you owe a proportionate amount for work performed; the right lapses entirely once the service is fully performed with your prior express consent and acknowledgment.

3. Business clients

Milestone payments cover accepted, delivered work and are not refundable. On termination of a running project you pay pro-rata for work performed; any excess advance is refunded within 14 days. Material defects we fail to remedy entitle you to a price reduction or, for fundamental non-conformity, termination of the affected part with a corresponding refund.

4. How refunds are paid

In the original currency, to the original payment method where technically possible, within 14 days of the decision or valid withdrawal, with no processing fees. Disagreements: Commission for Consumer Protection (kzp.bg) or the EU ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr) — but write to support@kokismokieood.com first.

Shipping & Delivery Policy

1. Everything we sell is delivered electronically

We sell digital products and software services. Nothing is shipped physically, so there are no shipping fees, customs charges or courier delays — anywhere in the world.

2. How and when delivery happens

  • Digital products: delivered by download link and/or emailed instructions to the email address from your order, normally within minutes of successful payment and at the latest within 24 hours.
  • Services: delivered per the schedule in your proposal or contract, with milestones handed over as agreed.

3. If nothing arrives

First check your spam folder and that the email address on the order is correct. Then contact support@kokismokieood.com with your order number — we will re-send or resolve it promptly. A digital product is not "delivered" until you can actually access it; delivery problems on our side never cost you anything.
